On the afternoon of February 7, 2014, Prof. Zou Shuliang, Party Secretary of USC, visited the students and their tuitors who were taking part in the 2014 MCM/ICM(Mathematical Contest in Modeling/Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling), escorted by the officials from the Department of Student Administration and the Department of Teaching Affairs.
A world-wide known annual contest in mathematical modeling designed for college students, MCM/ICM is jointly held by American National Science Foundation,Mathematical Association of America,American Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics and America's National Security Agency.
The contest would last 96 hours, from 9:00 am, February 7 to 9:00 am, February 11. Entering for this year's contest are 57 students from 10 subordinate schools of USC, coached by 12 tuitors with expertise in the field.
